We have identified the following items related to compatibility between ProCite and Word 2007 and any more recent versions of Word.
These items are based on testing performed with the public release of Word 2007.
ProCite 5
We have identified major incompatibilities with ProCite 5, and do not recommend using ProCite 5 with Word 2007 or later:
- Word 2007 will sometimes crash with the message, "Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close" when using the Scan Document command.
- Word 2007 will sometimes crash with the message, "Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close", if you use the Revert to Original Text command and delete the bibliography.
Note:
ProCite 5 will not be updated for Microsoft Word 2007 or later compatibility.
ProCite users running Word 2007 or later can upgrade to EndNote.
